Today I made my first contribution to the WordPress project through the Polyglots Team. I chose to contribute by translating WooCommerce strings into Spanish (Costa Rica) using GlotPress.
During this process, I learned how the translation workflow works, including submitting translation suggestions that are reviewed before being approved. I also discovered the importance of following existing terminology and maintaining consistency with previous translations.
In addition to submitting my first translations, I joined the Polyglots Slack community to start interacting with other contributors. This experience helped me better understand how open-source communities collaborate and review contributions.
Making my first contribution was an important milestone, and it motivated me to continue participating in the WordPress project and improving my contributions over time.
